We hope this message finds you well. We wanted to share that we are currently seeing higher levels of absenteeism due to influenza and gastrointestinal illnesses. To help keep everyone healthy this season, here are some friendly reminders on how to prevent the spread of illness:

**Please remember to keep your sick children at home. Our school policy is as follows:**

**For Influenza:** If your child is feeling under the weather with flu-like symptoms (like fever, cough, sore throat, headaches, body aches, or fatigue), please keep them home. They’ll need to be fever-free (with a temperature below 100.1°F) for at least 24 hours without any fever-reducing medications before returning to school.

**For Gastrointestinal Illness (Norovirus):** If your little one has symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, please make sure they stay home until they’ve been symptom-free for at least 48 hours and are able to eat regular meals without any issues.

If your child is experiencing these symptoms or will be absent, please let our School Nurse know by emailing rmorrison@sau4.org and remember to update PickUp Patrol.

Thank you for your cooperation, and let’s work together to keep our school community healthy!
