Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome Back! Happy New Year!
We have started our 5-week winter activity programs. This year, I have flipped my schedule in order to be able to head to the mountain and assist with skiing. It has been a few years since I had that chance. We have 26% of our students skating, 34% are participating in our school’s activities and 40% are skiing/boarding.
It takes many individuals hours upon hours to organize and put together these programs. We are fortunate at NHCS to have our new ski coordinators (Nora Foster, Megan Magrauth, and Jason North) and Mrs. Knott-Garon manages our skaters. Also necessary for the smooth running of these programs are the many volunteers who come in to help chaperon our students. We could use another 2-3 ski chaperones (some ski/boarding experience helpful). If you are interested in helping out with our ski program, please email Nora at email@example.com. At the rink, we could also use a person or two who would be willing to
skate with our crew. If you could help out on the ice, please call or email Mrs. Knott-Garon.
One of the rewarding parts of helping on the bunny hill is to be able to watch our non-skiers become more comfortable and confident. I am also amazed at how some students are just “naturals” and it looks like they have been skiing for a while, when actually they just put on their boots for the first time.
I am already looking forward to next week! Have a great weekend!
