Dear Parents/Guardians,

I can’t believe it is already time to celebrate Halloween!  For many people, Halloween is their favorite holiday.  Again this year, NHCS will be taking a little time out of our school day to celebrate, as a community, the creativity of students and staff members, have some fun, and collect nonperishable food items for our local food bank.

Below is information about this celebration:

 Costumes will reflect the school rules and dress code (no swords, knives, guns or weaponry of any kind, belly-shirts, short skirts, etc.).

 Costumes should have a positive theme (no violence, gore, extensive blood, etc.).

 Although we want our students to “dress up”, please be aware that during the parade, students will need to be able to see as they will be walking around outside.

 For our Halloween parade, please limit the amount of make-up and face paint, as we have limited changing areas and limited time to get dressed.

 Please use this opportunity to choose a historical person, favorite character in a story, an inspiring artist or athlete.

If a student does come to school with an inappropriate costume and/or accessories, the student will not be permitted to wear the costume.  As a community, we need to take the initiative in keeping this a wholesome event.

Halloween Parade—Friday, October 30

12:45-1:10 Students will put on their costumes

1:10-1:30 Costume Parade outside around our school complex into the “witches den” to drop off their nonperishable food items

Thanks in advance for helping to provide a great afternoon of celebration and help pack the local food bank with items.

Have a great weekend!
