Halloween Changes this Year

Dear Parents and Guardians,
To be more in line with our School District’s Wellness Policy, I am changing the amount and choice of food at our upcoming Halloween parties.  We are going to have one healthy choice and one creative snack during our gatherings.  Our classroom teachers will work with each room parent to cover these snacks.

Here is the schedule:

  • 1:00-1:15  Students will get dressed into their costumes (see below to review criteria)
  • 1:15-1:30  Parade around building and drop off our nonperishable food items
  • 1:30-1:50  Small parties in each classroom
  • 1:50-2:00  Pack up to go home

Our big focus of Halloween is on—HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS THROUGH OUR CANNED FOOD DRIVE!

 Costume Expectations

• Costumes will reflect the school rules and dress code (no swords, knives, guns, or weaponry, belly-shirts, short skirts, etc.).
• Costumes should have a positive theme (no violence, gore, blood, etc.).
• Although students want to “dress up”, please limit the amount of make-up and face painting.
• Please use this opportunity to choose a historical person, favorite character in a story, an inspiring artist or athlete.

If a child does come to school with an inappropriate costume and/or accessories, the student will not be permitted to wear the costume. As a community, we need to take the initiative in keeping this a wholesome event.

Have a great weekend!
