To the PTO and parents/guardians: Thank you from all the staff for making this such a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week! The PTO-sponsored “Night at the Ballpark” dinner was delicious, as well as the Subway luncheon served on Friday. There were also many treats that appeared in the Teachers’ Room and other areas throughout the school during the week. We all certainly feel appreciated! THEY’VE REACHED THEIR GOAL AND ARE KNOXVILLE-BOUND!! Over the next few days, the Destination Imagination participants, along with their families, will be heading down to Knoxville, Tennessee where they will be competing in the DI Globals. We’re very thankful for the huge amount of support you’ve shown while they’ve been trying to reach their goal. Know that we’ll be cheering on - in spirit - the following: Mika Austin, Ryleana Barney, Kamryn Batchelder, Noah Eckert, Sydnee Hahn, Jazmin Ivers, Coach Samantha Austin, and Coach Holly Cook. The deadline for yearbook orders and money has been extended toWednesday, May 21. If you need a copy of the order form, please give the office a call. Does your child receive special education services? If yes, it is time for the annual Parent Involvement Survey being conducted by the New Hampshire Department of Education’s Bureau of Special Education. The state is conducting this important survey to learn more about how parents who have students receiving special education services feel about the school’s efforts to involve parents in improving services and results for their children. These opinions are very important, and we hope you will share them if this survey is relevant to you. If your child received special education services this year, you should have received the survey in your home mailbox. You can fill out the survey and mail it back using the postage-paid envelope that is included, or go to www.NHParent.com and complete the survey online. A Note from Mrs. Plante-Renaud, Art Teacher - THANK YOU to everyone who has sent in empty paper towel cores. The fourth graders were amazed at the large number of cores that were brought in from home.
Mrs. Marcotte, our ICT teacher, is looking for volunteers to help out in the library. If you have any time, even a half hour here and there, she could use help in reshelving books. If interested, please give her a call. She’ll set up a time when it’s convenient for you to come in and see what needs to be done. Throughout the school year, we will be “Capturing CARES” and recognizing students and staff who have been caught modeling our mission statement, “NHCS CARES” (Character, Achievement, Responsibility, Excellence, Spirit).
