Destination Imagination
We are both happy and proud to announce that our two Destination Imagination teams will be going on to compete in the state competition in Hampton on Saturday, March 28! Team Foodlandians took first place at the regional competition last weekend, and Team Candy Crew placed second. Congratulations to all of our hard-working team members!
Full Day Kindergrten
Flyers are going home with the students, announcing the good news that the Newfound Area School District will be offering full day kindergarten, starting with the 2015/16 school year. In order for planning to take place, we ask that parents of eligible children either call or come by our office to register their children prior to Friday, April 17. Kindergarten Connection will be taking place on Wednesday, May 13, and those parents who have registered their children will be receiving packets from us in April. Please pass this information on to any parents you may know of who have children who will be eligible to enter kindergarten this upcoming year.
One Book One School
We hope your family is enjoying the One Book/One School selection of Charlotte’s Web by E. B. White. Students may turn in their families’ responses to that week’s trivia questions on Friday morning, depositing them in the box located on the stage. All entries will be eligible for a weekly prize, and there will be a grand prize drawing at the conclusion of this event. Happy Reading!
Volunteer Thank You
Thank you to the Leclerc/Peltier Family for putting up the March Birthdays bulletin board. It may still look like winter outside, but once you enter our front door, the bulletin board seems to say “Welcome Spring”! Would you be interested in volunteering to put up the birthday bulletin board for the month of either April or May? We have plenty of paper and trim on hand. If you’re interested, please give the office a call at 744-3221.
Donation Opportunity
Mrs. Plante-Renaud, our art teacher, is looking for large, empty coffee creamer containers with the snap tops. She will be needing these for a special project with the students. Also, if you have any over-sized t-shirts that the students could use as smocks during their art classes, please send them our way.
Capturing CARES
Throughout the school year, we will be “Capturing CARES” and recognizing students who have been caught modeling our mission statement, “NHCS CARES” (Character, Achievement, Responsibility, Excellence, Spirit). During Wednesday’s lunch time, the following students were recognized:
Malina Bohlmann - Character, Responsibility, Excellence, Spirit
Danielle Ford - Character, Achievement, Responsibility, Excellence, Spirit
McKenzie Hickey - Character, Achievement, Excellence
Myles Perry - Character, Achievement, Responsibility, Spirit
NHCS - Spirit (from a student author)
