December 5, 2014

Due to Tuesday’s delayed opening, this month’s PTO meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, December 8, at 7:15 a.m.  All are welcome to join us. Coffee and snacks will be served.

With this being our first delayed opening of the season, a few parents inquired as to whether or not kindergarten would be in session.  There will be no kindergarten on days of delayed openings.

We remind parents that students need to come to school, dressed for the wintry weather. Warm jackets, snow pants, hats, gloves/mittens, and boots must be worn.  Because we end up with so many items in the lost and found, it would be helpful if you would put your child’s name on the items of clothing so that they may be returned to your child.

During the months of November and December, many of the children and adults have commented on the attractively-decorated birthday bulletin board that’s in our front hallway. The Foster Family was responsible for creating this beautiful work for both months.  As all the students know, each month we change the bulletin board to show the names of those who will be celebrating birthdays during that particular month. We would love to have volunteers choose a month (or two) to update the bulletin board.  We have plenty of paper and trim on hand.  Perhaps you’d like to choose the month in which your child has his/her birthday.  If you’re interested, please give the office a call (744-3221).  And thank you, again, to the Foster Family.

Please see the attached newsletter from Mrs. Frost, “What’s Happening in PE”.

We are collecting addresses for all active service members.  If you have friends or family members who are presently serving in the armed forces or stationed at a military base, please send their names and addresses to us.  We will be organizing and sending out holiday cards and could use your assistance.  Please call the office (744-3221) with this information.

Throughout the school year, we will be “Capturing CARES” and recognizing students who have been caught modeling our mission statement, “NHCS CARES” (Character, Achievement, Responsibility, Excellence, Spirit).

During Wednesday’s lunch time, the following students were recognized:

Rylee Barney - Character, Responsibility, Spirit
