Students should have brought home their school pictures this week. If you have any questions regarding the pictures you received, please call LifeTouch at 1-800-287-4667.
Picture Re-Takes: The photographers from LifeTouch will be here on Monday, October 27, for retakes. If your child was absent on the day pictures were taken, you may send in the photo envelope, along with the money, on October 27. (Extra envelopes are available in the office.) If you would like to have your child’s picture retaken, the package of photos that was previously sent home must be returned in its entirety. Please keep the class picture.
We are collecting addresses for all active service members. If you have friends or family members who are presently serving in the armed forces or stationed at a military base, please send their names and addresses to us. We will be organizing and sending out holiday cards and could use your assistance. Please call the office (744-3221) with this information.
We are continuing to collect BoxTops for Education. If you have any BoxTops (often found on packages of food items), please send them in with your children. The money received from BoxTops for Education helps to fund student activities, assemblies, and field trips. These BoxTops are collected throughout the year.
We would like to remind parents/guardians who would like to volunteer, but have not yet been through the process of being fingerprinted and having a background check, to stop by the NHCS office. There is a new Volunteer Form and a Confidentiality Agreement that need to be completed. (The old Volunteer Form, for those of you who have not yet had this done, will not be accepted at the Superintendent’s Office.) As soon as you have completed these two forms, they will be sent over to Sue Cross at the SAU, and she will give you a call to schedule a time for you to go through the process. If you have any questions, please give us a call (744-3221).
Whole Village will be offering an evidence-based parenting course Active Parenting 4th edition beginning Monday, October 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. for 7 weeks, ending Dec. 1st. The course is free and childcare is available at no charge. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance, and if they attend all classes, they will also receive a $25 gas card. Register by calling 536-3720 or email:firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hannaford Helps Schools is a program that provides NHCS an opportunity to raise funds for our student activity account. The program began on August 30 and will run through December 6. When certain items (listed on the flyers that were recently sent home) are purchased from Bristol Shop & Save, you will receive “school dollars” that may be deposited in the box marked “New Hampton Community School” which you’ll find toward the front of the store. If you shop at any of the other Hannaford stores in the area and receive “school dollars”, please send them in with your child and we will bring them over to the Bristol store in order for our school to receive credit.
Throughout the school year, we will be “Capturing CARES” and recognizing students who have been caught modeling our mission statement, “NHCS CARES” (Character, Achievement, Responsibility, Excellence, Spirit). During Wednesday’s lunch time, the following students were recognized:
Joseph Ballou - Character & Responsibility
Jack DiFilippe - Achievement
Rohan Magrauth - Character, Excellence, Spirit
Colin vanLingen - Character
