The following is some of the information you may find helpful in learning about the day-to-day operation of our office. We are here to assist you and help your child’s day run smoothly. Please stop by or give us a call any time during our regular office hours, 7:00 to 3:00, Monday through Friday, at 744-3221.

School Hours

School begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. Students should not arrive at our school prior to 7:00, as there will be no supervision. It is important that your child be in class, ready to start the school day, at 7:30 along with his or her classmates. This year we have two kindergarten sessions, with the hours being 7:30-10:30 and 11:00-2:00. If your child is tardy, please ask that s/he get a pass from the office prior to going to class. Students, with the exception of the morning kindergartners, are dismissed at 2:00 p.m.

Student Dismissal/Notes

If your child’s plans for after school differ from his/her normal routine, please make sure a note is sent to the office. We will make a copy of the note as a reminder for your child and to make the bus driver aware of the change.

Visitors

Because we respect the safety of our students, doors to the school building will be locked while school is in session. Parents and visitors who would like to enter the building during school hours, beginning at 8:00 a.m., will be required to call the office from a call box, which is located to the right of the front entrance to the school. The office will verify the identity of the caller and will "buzz" the caller in. The parent/visitor will be asked to sign in at the office, where we will be happy to assist you. If you will be visiting a classroom, always check in at the office first, sign our guest/volunteer book, and wear one of our visitor passes.

New Student Registration

Please call the office at 744-3221 if you are interested in enrolling your child. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Transportation

Our students are transported by First Student, Inc. Please call that office at 744-3278 if you have any questions about your child’s bus transportation.

School Communications

The NASD has adopted a Notification Service. This system allows us to send a telephone message out to all families, notifying you of school events, emergencies, and school cancellations, delays, and early releases. Local radio and television stations will also be notified. Delayed opening means your child(ren) will start two hours later. If school is closed for the day after we announce a delayed start, you will again be notified. If there is an early dismissal due to severe weather conditions, you, as well as local media, will be notified. Students are usually dismissed at 12:00. At the beginning of the school year, you completed Early Release forms, indicating instructions to be followed should students be dismissed early. Please let us know if there are any changes which need to be made.
