Yankee Candle Fundraiser
Our Yankee Candle Fundraiser has begun, and students will be bringing home packets today. Money raised from this fundraiser goes into our Student Activity Account, and helps pay for events for our students, such as assemblies and field trips. If you wish to participate, orders and money must be submitted to this office by Friday, October 7. Please retain the pink copy of the order form and return to us only the white and yellow copies. Checks should be made out to NHCS, or New Hampton Community School. We appreciate your support in this annual fundraiser.
Ruth S. Joyce Scholarship Committee
For many years, the Ruth S. Joyce Scholarship Committee has been awarding scholarships to boys who are residents of New Hampton or River Road in Bridgewater, attended New Hampton Community School or the Newfound Memorial Middle School and who are completing secondary school with concrete plans for furthering their education. (Recently, scholarships that were awarded totalled $4500.) In addition to sponsoring raffles, yard sales, and dinners to help raise money, they also have a baked goods table at the New Hampton Town House on voting days. They will once again be setting up a table at the Town House on Tuesday, November 8, during voting hours, and are in need of your assistance. If you are unable to bake items for the sale, they would be very appreciative if you would donate ingredients to go into baked goods. These include chocolate chips, raisins, sugar (Hannaford and Domino Sugar brands), flour, and any other items that might be used in baked goods. These items should be dropped off in the school office (or sent in with your children) by Friday, October 14. If you would rather send in baked goods, please do so on the morning of Tuesday, November 8, and we will make sure they are delivered to the Town House. __________________________________________________________________________________________________
After extensive curriculum work over the past two years our district will begin implementing a new math program, Eureka Math, in the Fall of 2016. Eureka Math is a rigorous mathematics program that better aligns to the Common Core Standards and will help our students meet the challenges of 21st century learning.
